Vanquis
During my 3.5 years at Vanquis Bank, the core of my work was leading a massive, company-wide rebrand that touched every part of the business. Everything I did, from digital ads to office walls, stemmed from this one initiative: shifting our identity from a legacy institution into a modern, mission-driven "caring bank."
I built the foundation of this shift from the ground up, creating the new logo-mark, custom typography, and brand guidelines. This wasn't just an aesthetic update; I built accessibility into the DNA of the brand, which ultimately won the company a major industry award for inclusive design.
Once the system was set, I used it as a catalyst to transform everything else:
-
Digital & Social: I used the new design language to overhaul our social media and email assets, driving a 34% increase in engagement.
-
Scalable Systems: I created a print design system that allowed us to migrate hundreds of legacy assets into the new brand world effortlessly.
-
Environmental Branding: I even took the rebrand into the physical world, redesigning our Vanquis offices with new signage, graphics, and lighting to make the "caring bank" mission feel real for our employees.
By championing this brand evolution across both internal and external channels, I helped push the business forward to secure the UK Great Place to Work award in 2026.
Why rebrand?
Vanquis has went through many advertising campaigns. But, never championed the brand or had any brand cohesion. We, in the internal creative team, were tasked with a fully new brand style for Vanquis. Having never gone under are brand, Vanquis was overdue. I played a key role in logo development, color research and photography style.
Not only design intuition, but feedback from real consumers helped to shape the design and develop the Vanquis brand to where it is today. Re-launching in June 2025.
Social "sizzle" reel
A large part of the work I did at Vanquis was creating assets for our social media team. I created / animated this video showing off the year of 2025 socials.

Logo development
With new leadership in the business, there was a new mission statement for Vanquis. Being a "caring bank" was now at the forefront of our mission. The logo was developed to be an evolution from the original "playmark" logo. Building on the caring bank mission. With the general playmark shape a heart was inserted into the new design. Even though some of my initial designs were not chosen for this, I did help to refine and develop this logo design, spacing, etc.
Color development
A new logo and rebrand needed new colors. This was a particularly tough challenge for me. Starting with a matrix of where different companies logos all sat on a color wheel, then trying to find patterns / common colors for similar companies.
We found that the original Vanquis color palette did not really have any specific ties to anything meaningful. The new palette, championing our "Midnight 700" tone was meant to give a safe and softer feeling for a bank. Instead of the typical greens and reds that we saw plenty of other companies going towards.
Social media
Paid and organic social media for Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn. Overhauling our social media assets with a mix of motion and static designs, which helped increase our engagement and following by 34%.
Digital
Below, you will find examples old email designs compared with the new. The previous designs were not optimized for mobile, accessible, or even dark mode enabled. There was also a lack of visual continuity between emails from different areas of the business.
Including animation done with Adobe After Effects. This video was made to show off the new Vanquis app in the App Store and in Google Play.

Print has been a large part of the breadth of work during my time at Vanquis. These are some ads that I have developed and worked on.

Branded merch
When relaunching the Vanquis brand, the internal / office team wanted to celebrate and create merch for all the employees. This was a project that I was tasked with. Taking a brief to showcase the new brand on items such as: bags, water bottles, coffee cups, pens, hoodies.
